I started this painting during an excellent workshop with Liz Haywood-Sullivan. The focus of the class was on water and reflections. This scene is from a marsh across from Maquoit Bay, Maine. A beautiful spot, particularly in the fall.
I attended a great pastel workshop with Christine Ivers in Sunapee, NH. A wonderful few days of fun and learning in the company of great artists. We sketched scenes from Sunapee Harbor, took notes on values, light and color, and painted on black prepped Gatorboard. This is one of my paintings from Sunapee Center, along the harbor.

Pastel 10 x 10
My Regal geranium bloomed indoors all winter. It has migrated to the porch until it is warm enough to go outside.

Nuages
Pastel 3.5 x 9
Practicing clouds and skies. This small study was inspired by a Normandy painting - which I have the privilege to own - by my artist friend Suzanne.
My name is Joelle Levallet-Feldman. I was born and raised in Normandy, France and return every year to visit family and friends and rediscover the endless supply of inspiring scenes, each begging to be painted. Inspiration is also abundant in my adopted New England home, where the coast of Maine, orchards of Massachusetts and charming architecture are welcoming to any artist.
Media: oil, pastel and watercolor.
