Demos at the Fruitlands Museum

I feel privileged to be included in the Eighty Dusty Fingers pastel group selected as the 2015 "Artists in Residence" at the Fruitlands Museum. It is an honor to be sharing a residency with such talented pastel artists as Linee Baird, Cynthia Crimmin, Dave Kaphammer, Gary Ozias, Arlene Richman, Lisa Regopoulos and Jeanne Rosier Smith.

The residency includes classes, workshops, plein air and formal demonstrations, as well as exhibits from April through October, 2015. Please contact the Fruitlands Museum or check their website for more information.

Demos on Sunday 3 May
I will be giving a demonstration on the pastel medium from noon to 2:00pm in the Wayside building of the Fruitlands Museum on May 3rd. I will discuss materials, how to apply different pastel techniques and illustrate the process. Lisa Regopoulos will then perform a formal pastel demonstration from 2:00-4:00pm. Don't miss a great afternoon of learning and fun!

PS: You can enjoy an early brunch at the Fruitlands Museum Cafe or bring your own brown bag lunch to the demo.

Wondering what is happening to the allium bulbs I planted this last fall.  They are still buried under several feet of snow and it seems like a long way off before I'll get to see them....

I saw this intricate display of long shadows while snow shoeing in mid afternoon on the grounds of the Fruitlands Museum. The sun was low and the air frigid, but what a spectacular and inspiring scene!

Roped In

Roped In

With the windchill factor well below zero here in New England, my mind is drifting back to a perfect day last summer in the small harbor at Paimpol, Brittany with its colorful boats and buoys.
