Fall Evening in Acadia

Fall Evening in Acadia - Pastel 9 x 12

I painted this scene of vibrant autumn colors from memory as a reminder of the wonderful time I spent in Acadia National Park during peak fall foliage a couple of years ago. I am looking forward to painting this year's fall colors!

The rocky coast of Maine is an endless source of inspiration. The texture, shapes, colors of the rocks and the wild vegetation that grows in their cracks (asters being my favorite) was the inspiration for "Nestled", a first in my new Rocks of Maine series.
