I am happy to report that my three entries - "Yarrow Field", "Lilacs" and "Need More Forsythia" - were selected for the "Garden of Earthly Delights" juried exhibit at River Arts in Damariscotta, ME. If you get a chance, please join us at the opening reception on Friday 29 April, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Looking forward to it!

The only lilacs available at the moment in New England are from the store. In anticipation of these favorite blooms in my own backyard, a bouquet from the flower shop will do.

Pastel Class

Let me introduced you to the members of my new pastel class at the NOA Art Gallery and School in Groton, Mass! From left to right: Jean, Meghan, Dylan, Alice, Kate and Joni. We are missing Lois in the picture, but there will be other photo opportunities! They are a wonderful group and learn fast. They have only done 2 sessions so far and look at what they were able to produce practicing layering pastel techniques on Canson mi-teintes paper! I am impressed!

Next class, we will be practicing blending, layering and scrumbling on sanded paper. Can't wait to see what they'll do!

Mother Nature played a dirty trick on us this April Fool's day and dumped another 10 + inches of snow on the ground. I refuse to be defeated and I am creating my own spring!
