Had a great time at Mike Beeman's fun and very informative pastel workshop in Boothbay Harbor, ME this last week end. I particularly enjoyed the color study process on Canson paper. These two are a sample of several studies I did in the workshop.
I painted this scene of vibrant autumn colors from memory as a reminder of the wonderful time I spent in Acadia National Park during peak fall foliage a couple of years ago. The painting was part of the exhibit "Acadia Cadence", celebrating the park's 100th anniversary, at the Yarmouth Gallery in Yarmouth, Maine. I am looking forward to painting this year's fall colors!
My name is Joelle Levallet-Feldman. I was born and raised in Normandy, France and return every year to visit family and friends and rediscover the endless supply of inspiring scenes, each begging to be painted. Inspiration is also abundant in my adopted New England home, where the coast of Maine, orchards of Massachusetts and charming architecture are welcoming to any artist.
Media: oil, pastel and watercolor.
